The book of today won the 2003 Caldecott Honor. Based on Mary Howitt's 1829 poem, here is the story of a scheming Spider and the sweet words he employs to lead an innocent Fly to her unfortunate demise. The debonair Spider smoothly invites the demure Fly into his parlor, but she refuses. Undaunted, the Spider tempts her several more times, promising her a restful bed, pretty things to see, and delicious food - but the Fly politely declines, maintaining the proper etiquette of a well-mannered lady. But once the Spider resorts to flattery, the unsuspecting Fly can no longer resist and enters his parlor - only to never return.
Tony DiTerlizzi's humorous illustrations inspired by the Hollywood horror movie classics of the 1920's are made in black and white... totally delicious!!! Etiquetas: Libro - Book
