El es famoso autor e ilustrador del libro The Very Hungry Caterpillar, un clasico de la literatura infantil!!! su trabajo es ademas de creativo muy original ya que utiliza una tecnica de collage creada por el mismo, el crea sus propios papeles de colores con diferentes medios y el resultado es maravilloso.
Nacio en Nueva York en 1929, a los 6 años se va a Alemania y ahi se forma y termina sus estudios en la prestigiosa escuela de arte "Akademie der bildenden Künste" en Sttutgart. Regreso a NY en 1952 con un portafolio de su trabajo y 40 dls. en el bolsillo, encontro trabajo de inmediato en el NY Times y de ahi la historia sigue como una carrera llena de libros infantiles fabulosos, reconocimiento internacional y una gran aportacion al mundo de la ilustracion infantil! Eric Carle is acclaimed and beloved as the creator of brilliantly illustrated and innovatively designed picture books for very young children. His best-known work, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. His art work is created in collage technique, using hand-painted papers, which he cuts and layers to form bright and cheerful images.
Born New York, in 1929, when he was 6 years old he moved with his parents to Germany; he was educated there, and graduated from the prestigious art school, the "Akademie der bildenden Künste", in Stuttgart. But his dream was always to return to America. So, in 1952, with a fine portfolio in hand and forty dollars in his pocket, he arrived in New York. Soon he found a job at The New York Times. From there the story continues as a successful career, lots and lots of fabulous children books, international recognition and a great colaboration for the world of children illustration.
