As a child Carll Cneut grew up in a small village named Geluwe, on the Belgian-French border in Belgium. He was the eldest of three. Every night, his father taught him a little something to draw, knowledge he used to pass on to his two little sisters the next day, by organizing art schools in his mother's kitchen. As an adult he started his professional life as an art director in the publicity world. Carll kept on drawing, and experimenting with paint and textures, in his few spare hours. In 1996 he illustrated his first book in Belgium, until 2000 when he decided to become a full-time illustrator.
As an artist Carll has illustrated about fifteen titles so far, mainly published in Belgium, and translated into many languages. Carll has won many awards, including some international ones. What a great illustrator!!!
